Don't take our word for it

Esther and Duco

Duco and Esther - 24 days - 2 adults - 2016 Sun Living Flexo SP camperbus - from Valencia to the south of Spain - Sept & Oct 2016

After a small delay we were picked up at the Valencia airport by Gert. He brought us to the place where our motorhome was being prepared for our trip.IMG_3955klein.JPG

We turned on the navigation system, put our bikes on the bicycle rack, stored the table and chairs and we took off to our first destination: the camping site in Saler. The next day we biked from the site through Valencia. What a wonderful city with many attractions. Though the nature apparently is beautiful in the north, we went to the south, as the temperature is more pleasant there at the moment. Along a slightly boring coast line we arrived in the beautiful Moraira. Every city consists of a cathedral and a castle on the mountain, but Elche stands out due to the hundreds of thousands of palm trees.
Eventually we went more landward and got the Sierra da Espuña. Even there we saw Dutch holidaymakers with motorhomes.
We weren’t able to find a camp site on the internet which we could also look up on the navigation system, so eventually we arrived -exhausted- in the city centre of Granada.
Caminito del Rey, near Ardales is just unforgettable. The walkway along the cliff has a magnificent view. It is unbelievable how this was constructed a hundred years ago. The El Mirado camp site gave us an incredible feeling of being free.

We also went to Torre del Mar, passing through Marbella and Malaga. The day we spent in Malaga was really worth it. There was not much to see between the mountains on our way to Cabo de Gata, but the view was still spectacular. Though we wanted to drive along the coast, we chose hairpin bends, steep inclines and marvelous views and ended up at a natural camping site, Navalon Engueira. The nature was stunning but eventually we did go to the coast, where we ended up in Cullera. The area had plenty of tourist infrastructure but there were hardly any tourists in October. We really loved the seaside promenade. It was a great addition to the mountain we saw earlier.

On the last day, Gert was there to pick us back up and he brought us to the station in Valencia. We wanted to store our bags in a locker so we could walk around in the city before we took the metro to the airport. The service by was excellent and we will definitely make use of it again.
